Sara Jiménez
Sara Jiménez is born in Granada and begins dancing at the age of five. At ten, she begins her studies at the Reina Sofía Professional Dance Conservatory, studying Spanish Dance and flamenco. She is also the recipient of a scholarship to study at the Andalusian Dance Center under the direction of Blanca Li.
Upon completing her training, Jiménez moves to Madrid to join the Ballet Flamenco de Madrid and performs in Suite Carmen. During her time in Madrid, she joins the Estévez & Paños Company as a soloist and performs in the productions: La Consagración (2013), Bailables (2015), El sombrero and Flamenco Hoy, the latter under the direction of Spanish film director Carlos Saura. Upon returning to Granada, Jiménez premieres her first solo show Recital Flamenco at the Auditorio Enrique Morente. She performs at the Ankara International Flamenco Festival, the Toulouse Flamenco Festival and the XXVIII Andrés Segovia International Festival in Madrid. |

In 2014, she collaborates on the show Yo, Mujer, with dramaturgy by film director Carlos Rico. That same year, she wins the First Prize for Best Choreography at the Spanish Dance and Flamenco Competition in Madrid with the piece Tápate Niña.
In 2016, she performs Real de la Alhambra at the Granada Music and Dance Festival, accompanied by guitarist Pablo Giménez. The show subsequently tours Canada and France.
Between 2016 and 2018, Jiménez is a principal dancer with the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía under the direction of Rafael Estévez. She also participates as a choreographer in the show Flamenco, Tradición y Vanguardia.
In 2017, she premieres Vía Bamba with dancer Alberto Sellés at the Auditorio Enrique Morente in Granada. That same year, she is nominated for Best Female Dancer by the Spanish performing arts awards Premios Max 2018 for her performance in Aquel Silverio by the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía.
In 2019, Jiménez collaborates on the show P’alante y P’atrás by Manuel Lombo, performed at the VI Arte Flamenco de Málaga Biennial. She is currently working on new solo pieces and performing with and choreographing for Corazón de Granada and Estévez&Paños.
